Sui remembers the first time she saw singer-songwriter Madonna wearing her outfits.
“She took off her cover and she was wearing my outfit. And she leaned over and she said ‘Anna, I’m wearing your outfit,’ said Sui. “And in her resort she had purses and shelves of outfits from every major developer in the world there and she was wearing my outfit.”
It was a critical time for Sui, motivating her to progress in her profession. Whether she’s illustrating effect from Scandinavian style, 1960’s scene-makers or her own social obsessions, the Chinese-American has created perform that is equivalent parts strong and moderate.
While Sui often moves around the world, she says these days, it’s more complicated to see a difference popular between Chicago, Illinois and Chengdu.
“Because of globalization, because of the Internet, sometimes you can’t tell where you are until you see the road indication because people are clothed very much as well now,” described Sui.
