During the visit to Camping Ravenna, Reich, along with the others, were given M-16s and a dark box. Guidelines were given to place and sustain the journal. This was initially Reich had seen or moved ammunition, and she was speechless.

“I was so puzzled and I lastly got the assurance to increase my side and (ask) ‘I didn’t get my journal, can I discard this dark box?'” Reich said.

The cadet sergeant contacted her and described the box was the journal, organised the ammunition and places into the tool, Reich said.

“Everyone just giggled at me and considered me … I was so humiliated because I was considering a guide like a style journal,” she said. “From then on I didn’t increase my side the remaining journey. It was a challenging chance to learn at plenty of your efforts and effort, but it’s an interesting factor now.”

Reich is the first student to significant popular marketing and minimal in army leadership research. Although she said she has resolved into a schedule now, the way was not simple.

“I didn’t encounter valued,” Reich said. “I experienced (like an) outsider and I didn’t encounter like I fit in either of them even though I realized I liked style. With style, I type of have to lead my own direction, I think.”

Reich's fitness and health capability and comprehensive qualifications in various activities — from bike riding and triathlons to gym and cheerleading — assisted her fit in with ROTC. She even tried out for London State’s D1 cheerleading group as a newcomer, but unfortunately did not create the group, something she views her greatest failing.

“Even though I did not succeed at cheerleading, it provided me an excellent chance for my upcoming, and (I found) myself (involved in) something I would have never ever select," Reich said. "So I think selecting to stand apart was the better path than trying to fit in with a cheerleading consistent."

Within the system Reich is one knight. But outside, she assumes a different character.

“You would never know she was in ROTC outside of ROTC,” said Daniel Mueller, professional official and associate lecturer of army technology. “She goes absolutely elegant lady. And then when she comes in and places a consistent on, she flicks changing into the army method and is instruction and so forth.”

Tiffany Gainer, a mature mindset significant and part of ROTC, said a lot of everyone is amazed when they see women knight who’s very elegant outside of the system, and sometimes it’s challenging for individuals take them seriously.

“When individuals me in a little dress and my sorority clothing and ... my locks are done ... then they’re like, ‘Oh, what do you do?’ and I say ‘I’m in the army,’ They’re really amazed … I didn’t know I couldn’t do both,” Gainer said. “No women — regardless of what they are in their time to recover — should ever have to confirm themselves a thousand periods more than a man just because she’s that type of women.”

Gainer said she is helpful of Reich and has battled for her in the system because she performs 10 periods more complicated than anyone else.

“She strikes everyone away with her actual competition and skill,” Gainer said. “She’s one of the most actually able individuals (Kent State's) ROTC ... I’ve seen.”

Although Reich now has the next to the maximum PT ranking, the analyze depending on health and fitness and health, she is making an effort to proceed her achievements in the system.

“It means me to show leadership ... I desired to have the greater requirements, and I didn’t want to be a fan,” Reich said, “And popular you’re not a fan, you set the requirements. So it type of goes turn available, in a different way.”
